St. Blues Bluesmaster 1980's DiMarzio Super Distortions - Metallic Blue - Fair Condition
Up for sale is this vintage 1980's St. Blues Bluesmaster electric guitar.
This instrument shows fairly heavy wear and it's clear that someone played it a lot. The original blue metallic finish shows wear, including some heavy wear on the front and back in the "arm rest" area. The guitar looks to have had a pickguard installed at some point, as evidenced by the extra holes on the top. There are the typical stress cracks in the finish at the neck pocket (pictured) that are purely cosmetic.
The body was original routed for two humbuckers (the original finish is still in the routs) and has not been routed further since it left the factory, although we are not sure if the DiMarzio Super Distortions, while period correct, are original to the instrument. It's often a guessing game when it comes to these earlier St. Blues instruments... The electronics have just been sprayed out and everything works as it should.
Our tech has just been over this one. It was cleaned up some, restrung, and given a quick set up to put the action where it should be and to set the intonation. It has been refretted at least once and it could use a fret dressing, but plays well as it sits although there is some fret buzz further on up the neck with the action set where it should be (low and comfortable).
No case or gig bag is included, but the instrument will be well packed for safe shipping. These early St. Blues instruments have become harder and harder to find, so don't miss out!
