1936 Gibson EH-150 Lap Steel
Couldn't load pickup availability
Gibson got into the electric lap steel business in 1935 with a metal body E-150 and it had issues. So the following year Gibson introduced the EH-150 featuring the famous bar pickup that has since become known as the "Charlie Christian pickup" due to his affection for Gibson's ES-150 electric guitar.
This rare model features the original Charlie Christian pickup, triple bound maple top, rosewood fretboard with V-end, mother of pearl dot inlays and Gibson logo.
It plays great with plenty of buttery soul that you can only harness from a pre-war Gibson. The aesthetic condition is about what you'd expect for an 87-year-old instrument. It has some loving scratches and nicks, but this lap steel was not abused either. Serial # 1238-8. Case is included.
