Frank describes this guitar as probably the most bizarre of the bizarre. The horns are reminiscent of a Tokai Hummingbird and the pickguard induces imagery of a Burns of London. This one was made at the old Teisco Factory after Teisco was bought by Kawai. The factory continued to build guitars into the early 1970s and produced some contract guitars for a music store in Tokyo owned by a company called Hara Gakki.
Domestically in Japan, these guitars were branded as Burns. The story goes some one-offs of this body style were imported by the Imperial Accordion Company of Chicago and this is how they landed stateside.
The guitar has plenty of wear and finish checking, but it's setup and ready for an everyday player.
