Ibanez RS440 Roadstar II 1984
Cataloged by Ibanez for approximately one year the RS440 is a quintessential mid 80s super strat. This is the HSS version of the RS430 popularized by Marty McFly shredding it up with his band The Pinheads.
All of the equipment remains original to 1984 with Ibanez Super 7 single coils and a V5 humbucker with coil split. In the first half of production Ibanez used a basswood body with a birch top, then switched to all basswood in 1985.
This guitar was lovingly played, but not abused. Please see pictures for scratches and scrapes. One previous owner applied tape to the body to stripe the guitar, but never did. The current owner has been slowly and meticulously removing the tape so as not to damage the finish. The hardware has aged appropriately over the last 39 years. Prospective buyers should be clear on the fact this is a players grade guitar, not a wall-hanger.
